Delegates, finish the V.I. Constitution

I am happy to see conversations surrounding the U.S. Virgin Islands Constitution re-invigorated with the submittal of legislation by Senate President Ronald Russell (Bill 29-0236, "An Act to establish the Constitution Revision Convention").
I appreciate the initiative to get the constitutional process back on track on behalf of the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands. If anything came out of this, it is an increased awareness of business left unfinished.
To that end, I personally would prefer to see the Constitutional Convention delegates re-convene, with the support of the Legislature in terms of funding and facilities necessary to function according to by-laws.
This is a teachable moment for all of us. When we come to a road block that we cannot just barrel through, we put our heads together to complete our obligation to those who elected us. As an elected official, Sen. Russell saw this need to move things forward - but that is taking responsibility away from other elected officials, namely, the members of the Fifth U.S. Virgin Islands Constitutional Convention.
I would like to see them finish what they started.
