Remember Jack Diehl today and enjoy Mandahl Bay

Today marks the third anniversary of the tragic murder of our dear friend Jack Diehl.
The trials are over, the person responsible for his death is in prison, and most people have gone on with their lives. But I would like everyone to take a moment to remember Jack, a passionate, dedicated man. He left a loving and loved wife and two sons, an amazing extended supportive family and many friends. Jack loved all of these people and they returned that love.
Jack was also passionate about the Virgin Islands and our wondrous natural resources. He was a diver and surfed and snorkeled our beautiful waters. He leaves a legacy as one of the first front runners in the Save Mandahl Bay movement.
He was an organizer, he was vocal and he made no apologies for that voice! He gathered the forces to fight the would-be developer of Mandahl Bay and the Mandahl Salt Pond. We have proudly carried on his work and daily, we watch over Mandahl Bay.
Everyone can enjoy these same wonders just by visiting the beach and salt pond, take a walk, snorkel the clear waters, fish off the rocks, photograph the diving pelicans, listen to the waves lapping the shores and revel in the peace and quiet that is Mandahl Bay and Mandahl Salt Pond - and think of Jack and thank him for lighting the fire in all of us that will fight the good fight as we love Mandahl Bay just the way it is.
