ST. THOMAS - Junior forward Edidiong Utibe scored a team-high 14 points and led a balanced scoring attack as the Charlotte Amalie High School girls basketball team rolled to a 66-31 victory over visiting Ivanna Eudora Kean High School in a St. Thomas-St. John IAA varsity game Monday.

It was the IAA regular season opener for both teams and a rematch from the Kean High Invitational Tournament final from Sunday, which CAHS also won.

Senior forward Merrisa Murphy finished with 10 points for the Lady Chickenhawks, while Kerry Harry and KeAnna Mills added 10 points each.

"It was pretty balanced and we had some other players score as well," said CAHS coach Myron Corbett, whose team opened a 36-16 halftime lead. "This was only four points off the most team points we've scored this season. It's been great so far. There are so many options to go to."

Sophomore point guard Akia Frett paced the Lady Devil Rays with a game-high 19 points.

Kean High will host Gifft Hill next Wednesday, while CAHS will host the Barracudas on Friday. Both games start at 4 p.m.
