Complex tops rival Central

The St. Croix Educational Complex baseball team beat Central High School, 10-4, in five innings on Monday at D.C. Canegata Ballpark.
The Barracudas (2-1) used a six-run first inning to chase Caribs starting pitcher Romani Hansen from the game. Complex starter Ray Parrilla pitched three innings and struck out eight batters in the win.
Jaleen Weeks and Raymond Sankitts had identical nights at the plate, each going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Central (1-2) scored twice in the top of the third inning to cut the deficit to 7-2, but Complex added another three runs in the bottom of the inning against reliever Samuel Conroy III.
The Caribs scored two more runs in the fourth, but Complex reliever Daren Stevens II held them scoreless in the fifth to end the teams' third meeting of the season. Ashanti Lawrence led Central at the plate with an RBI.
