Cuervas, Archers get win in Hendricks LL opener

Lewis Cuervas had three hits in three plate appearances, including an inside-the-park home run, to lead the Archers to a 13-12 victory over the Sluggers in an Elrod Hendricks West Little League baseball game Saturday.
Malcolm Falardeau hit a walkoff RBI-single in the bottom of the sixth to decide the game for the Archers. Roberto Tirado and Najer Victor finished with two hits each.
Christian Graciano went 3-for-4 for the Sluggers, while Jarie Mulraine, Jeavon Francis and Jamie Arche added two hits apiece.
Twins 9, Marlins 6
Ahmed Joseph and Karon Shelford hit inside-the-park home runs to lead the Twins to a win over the Marlins on Saturday. Joseph, Shelford and Elvis Stevens finished with two hits each, while Miguel Encarnacion was the winning pitcher. K'Quadeem Christopher went 2-for-2 to pace the Marlins.
Pirates 11, Rebels 2
Winning pitcher Negee Harris gave up only three hits and got three hits of his own to lead the Pirates past the Rebels on Saturday. Tyree Morton went 2-for-3 for the Pirates, while Dennis Senelis was on the mound for the Rebels.
Junior Fire 12, Achievers 1
Dezhane Amey belted an inside-the-park home run and finished with two hits to lift Junior Fire to a big win over the Achievers on Saturday. Lourenz Gonzalez was the winning pitcher, while Chad Bryan was on the mound for the Achievers.
Governmental and Industrial Coed Slow-pitch Softball League
Weston Matthew had three hits in four plate appearances to lift Innovative/Home Depot/ UPS to a 13-8 victory over Fire in a Governmental and Industrial Coed Slow-pitch Softball League game at Emile Griffith Ballpark on Friday.
Winning pitcher Dexter Freeman, Kemo Simeon, Clifton Franklin, Bernard Douglas Sr. and Eunipha Douglas added two hits apiece for I/HD/UPS.
Laura Isaac clubbed a first-inning home run for Fire, while Jelani Phillips went 2-for-3.
Native Son/Crown Bay/Da Vybe 7, Airport/Tutu Park Mall 2
Dwayne Abbott and Miranda Marie each went 2-for-3 to lead NS/BC/DV to a win on Thursday. Shawn White was the winning pitcher while Jakoi Percival and Clemile Gibbs combined for four hits for NS/CB/DV. James Farrell had two hits in two plate appearances to lead Airport/TPM.
WICO/GERS 5, First Bank/Jewelers 4
Trevor Simmonds had two hits in three plate appearances to lift WICO/GERS to a tight victory on Wednesday. Marty Mogelnicki was the winning pitcher, while Dean Adams was inside the circle for First Bank/Jewelers. Ramil Bahul went 2-for-2 for First Bank/Jewelers.
Innovative/Home Depot/UPS 8, Police/Senate 5
Kemo Simeon, Timothy Brewer, Clifton Franklin and Michael Thomas each went 3-for-3 to pace the offensive attack in a win for I/HD/UPS. Dexter Freeman was the winning pitcher. Derrick Bouganeau hit a solo home run in the sixth for Police/Senate, while Ivan Williams, Derick Greaves, Kirk Thomas, Alicia Maduro and Aneca David added two hits apiece.
Fire 8, WAPA 0
Williams Lawrence blasted a solo homer in the fourth as Fire blanked WAPA on Tuesday. Caleve Turnbull, Frank Thomas and Lawrence each went 2-for-3 for Fire, who threw Elvis Lewis. Pitcher Allan Brown took the loss for WAPA as its six hits in the game were scattered.
Education/Ritz 8, HPR 3
Henry Baron finished with three hits to lead Ed/Ritz in a win Tuesday. Lloyd Jackson and Frankie Brathwaite each went 2-for-4 for Ed/Ritz and Michael Bute was the winning pitcher. Lenora Ritter was inside the circle for HPR.
St. John Adult Flag Football League
Quarterback Lawrence Charles Jr. threw four touchdown passes to four different receivers to lift the Wildcats to a 24-20 victory over Going Green in a St. John Adult Flag Football League game on Friday. The league-leading Wildcats improved to 3-0, while Going Green fell to 1-2.
In other league action Friday, Allen Roberts Jr. hauled in a touchdown catch to lift Contra to a 37-14 win over the Chupacabras. The Bulldogs blanked the Boondox on Saturday night, 34-0, but no other information from the game was available.
The league resumes Friday with a doubleheader at 7:30 p.m. Contra (2-1) will meet the Boondox (1-2) in the first game, followed by a showdown between Going Green and the Bulldogs (2-1). The Wildcats will meet the Chupacabras (0-3) on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
St. Thomas Region Adult Soccer League
Brian Charlery, the league's leading scorer, netted two goals to lift the New Vibes to a 4-1 victory over Togetherness in a USVI Soccer Association St. Thomas Region Adult Soccer League match at Lionel Roberts Stadium on Thursday. With the win, the New Vibes now have 18 points and sit one point behind first-place Togetherness.
The New Vibes' early onslaught included goals in the 16th, 22nd and 36th minute from Charlery, Marlon Wilton and Carlos Claxton. Charlery completed the brace when he scored in the 90th minute.
Dexter Teshiera scored on a header for Togetherness and Wilfred Andrews was credited with the assist early in the second half.
League standings: Togetherness (19 points), New Vibes (18), Raymix (15), UWS (13) and Laraza (four).
Raymix 3, UWS 0
Arlington Fritz notched a hat trick to lead the Raymix to a victory over UWS on Tuesday. Fritz scored his first goal midway through the first half as the Raymix opened a 1-0 lead at halftime. Raymix goalkeeper Denny Smith made several crucial saves to preserve the shutout win.
St. Thomas Under-15 Soccer League
The United moved into first place of the USVI Soccer Association St. Thomas Under-15 Soccer League when Victor John scored to lead his team to a 1-0 victory over the Raza Juniors at the University of the Virgin Islands on Saturday.
The United have a league-high 12 points, followed by Remix (nine), Raza Juniors (four) and Young Vibes (four).
Young Vibes 2, Remix 0
Benaltho Nevil scored both goals for the Young Vibes in their win over the Remix on Saturday. It was the first win of the season for the Young Vibes and the second straight loss endured by the Remix.
