Heat Check beats All Coast Ballers to win 'Froggy' Johnson basketball tournament

ST. THOMAS - Led by tournament Most Valuable Player Joshua Hernandez, Heat Check beat the All Coast Ballers, 62-55, on Christmas Eve to win the sixth annual Ralph "Froggy" Johnson Double Elimination Tournament at Alvin McBean Complex in Estate Tutu.

Hernandez finished with 99 points in five games. He scored a game-high 27 points in the championship game and teammate Kishowy Fleming added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Deland Isadore finished with 12 points and seven rebounds to lead the All Coast Ballers in the loss. Heat Check avenged a 67-47 loss to the All Coast Ballers on the tournament's first of four days. That was Heat Check's only loss as they won four straight en route to the top finish.

Earl Thompson of Justice finished with a tournament-high 48 rebounds. Stephaun Adams of All Coast Ballers finished with tournament-highs of 15 steals and 13 assists. Thompson scored the most points in a single game with 29 in a 63-46 win over Who Do It.
