LONDON - One night after she set a personal best time and a new U.S. Virgin Islands record in the 100-meter sprint, Laverne Jones-Ferrette finished fourth in her semifinal heat on Saturday and failed to advance to the final.
Jones-Ferrette clocked a time of 11.22 seconds, and when she emerged in the media tunnel underneath a sold-out Olympic Stadium, the 30-year-old St. Croix speedster had nothing but positive thoughts.
