Sadie Hawkins Golf

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas-St. John Ladies Golf Association will hold a Sadie Hawkins 9-hole golf tournament on Friday, with a tee time of 3 p.m. Women golfers can invite men golfers to join in a fun-filled afternoon. Partners will be found for women without one. The format will be a two-person scramble. STT-STJ LGA membership is not required.

Zero Tolerance clinic registration

ST. THOMAS - Final registration for the Zero Tolerance 6-9 Youth Basketball Clinic will take place for 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the CAHS gym. The first 30 children registered will be accepted.

Using Sport for Social Change event

ST. JOHN - Using Sport For Social Change, in conjunction with the St. John Community Foundation and the St. John Parks and Recreation Department, will hold a social gathering at the St. John School Of Arts on Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will used to update participants on what USFSC is, what it has accomplished in the past and future endeavors. The event is open to the public. Sponsorship levels for the 4th annual free "Just Play" event, which is scheduled for Oct. 8, will also be unveiled.

8 Tuff Miles bib pick-up

ST. JOHN - Runners registered for the 16th annual St. John 8 Tuff Miles Road Race can pick up bib numbers today and Thursday at the Tap Room in Mongoose Junction from 4-8 p.m. There will be no bib number pickup on Friday. Runners can also pick up their bib numbers on Saturday, which is race day, from 6 to 7 a.m. at Philanthropy Gazebo at the National Park Visitors Center in Cruz Bay.

Runners must bring a photo ID for all bib number pickups and the deadline to transfer bib numbers will be 8 p.m. on Thursday.

On Saturday, two Varlack Ventures ferry boats will leave Red Hook for Cruz Bay - one at 6 a.m. and another at 6:15 a.m. - for the scheduled 7:15 a.m. start of the race. One-way fare costs $6 and can be purchased up to 10 days in advance.

St. Thomas 40-Plus Cricket Club

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas 40-Plus Cricket Club will hold another fundraiserat 1 p.m. Sunday at the Addelita Cancryn Junior High School field. The club is raising funds for an upcoming trip to Anguilla.

V.I. High School Football Showcase

ST. THOMAS - The fourth annual V.I. High School Football Showcase is tentatively scheduled for March 7-11 at Charlotte Amalie High School. All high school sophomores, juniors and seniors in the territory are invited to participate in the combine, which will feature full-speed conditioning and agility workouts in front of college scouts and coaches from nationally-ranked junior college programs.

It will be a contact football camp with full pads and will include 7-on-7 games. CAHS coach Francisco Jarvis said invitations were sent out to eight of last year's Top 10 junior college programs to attend. Over the last three years, 18 local players were signed by college programs at the camp.

Soccer Club Championship

ST. THOMAS - The USVI Soccer Association will host its 2011-12 Club Championship at Lionel Roberts Stadium on Friday and Sunday. The top two adult league clubs from St. Croix and St. Thomas will be in action. A daily donation of $10 for adults, $5 for children under 15 is encouraged. The doubleheader on Feb. 24 will start at 7 p.m. and the action starts up again on Sunday at 5 p.m. For more information, email usvisoccer@gmail.com.

Adult Tennis Classes

ST. THOMAS - The St. Thomas Racquet Club will hold adult tennis classes for beginners and intermediate players on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9 p.m. at the Sub Base tennis courts. Boys Under-15 soccer tryouts

The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Association will hold tryouts for the USVI Under-15 boys soccer team. Training sessions will be conducted Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7 p.m. at Freewill Baptist School on St. Croix, and at the University of the Virgin Islands soccer field on St. Thomas. Tryouts are open for boys born on or after Jan. 1, 1997, and possess a valid U.S. passport. The team will participate in competition from July 20-27. Soccer clinics

The USVI Soccer Association is conducting free soccer clinics on St. Croix and St. Thomas that are open to boys and girls ages 5-13. The clinics take place from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday at Good Hope School and Educational Complex on St. Croix and at the University of the Virgin Islands soccer field on St. Thomas.

Skimboarding Lessons

ST. THOMAS - Skimcaribbean is hosting a Skim Camp at Morningstar Beach from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturdays and noon until 4 p.m. on Sundays. All skill levels welcome, ages 7 and up. Cost is $50 per rider per session.

Healthy snacks and ice water will be provided. Riders should bring sunscreen, a swimshirt, a re-useable water bottle and a sack lunch. Skimboards will be provided upon request.
