Men's Summer Basketball League meeting
ST. THOMAS - The V.I. Pride Basketball Association men's summer league will hold an emergency meeting for all coaches and team representatives at 6 p.m. today at the CAHS gym. Beach wrestling
ST. THOMAS - The V.I. Wrestling Federation invites the public to beach wrestling at Brewers Bay on the first and third Sunday of every month at 11 a.m. For details, call Shamsie at 690-8632.
International Optimist Regatta
ST. THOMAS - The 2012 Scotiabank International Optimist Regatta, one of the first and largest regattas in the Caribbean to promote youth sailing, starts Friday and registration is now open.
More than 80 junior sailors (ages 8-15) are expected to attend the regatta, which is hosted by the St. Thomas Yacht Club and sanctioned by the Virgin Islands Sailing Association and Caribbean Sailing Association. The Sea Star Clinic will run from today to Wednesday and the Sea Star Team Racing event is scheduled for Thursday. Taekwondo Classes
ST. JOHN - There will be taekwondo classes at St. Ursula's Anglican Church Multipurpose Center from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students ages six to adult are welcome. For more information, call 344-1581, or call Olivine Smith at 776-6249.
Skimboarding camps
ST. THOMAS - Skimcaribbeans' knowledgeable freelance skim camp instructors will hold skimboarding lessons and camps for adult and children from age 7 and up. They will held Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Costs $50 per rider, per day or $80 for both days.
Shade, healthy snacks, and ice water will be provided. Riders should bring sunscreen, UV swimshirt, re-useable water bottle and sack lunch. Skimboard may be provided upon request. For more information, call Ray Whittemore at 998-4625 or email skimcaribbean@gmail.com.
USVI boys under-17 soccer tryouts
The U.S. Virgin Islands boys under-17 soccer team is holding tryouts on St. Thomas and St. Croix. Training sessions will be conducted Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7 p.m. On St. Croix, the sessions will be held at Freewill Baptist School, and on St. Thomas, they will be at Addelita Cancryn Junior High.
Tryouts are open for boys born on or after January 1, 1996 and possess a valid U.S. Passport. The USVI boys under-17 team will be in competition from July 3-10 in St. Kitts and Nevis. For more information, call 719-9707 or email at usvisoccer@gmail.com.
Boys Under-15 soccer tryouts
The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Association will hold tryouts for the USVI Under-15 boys soccer team. Training sessions will be conducted Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7 p.m. at Free Will Baptist School on St. Croix, and at the University of the Virgin Islands soccer field on St. Thomas. Tryouts are open for boys born on or after Jan. 1, 1997, and possess a valid U.S. passport. The team will participate in competition from July 20-27.

Soccer clinics
The USVI Soccer Association is conducting free soccer clinics on St. Croix and St. Thomas that are open to boys and girls ages 5-13. The clinics take place from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday at Good Hope School and Educational Complex on St. Croix and at the University of the Virgin Islands soccer field on St. Thomas.
