Spring Training football session
ST. THOMAS - The 16th annual Spring Training Session of the J.U.I.C.E. Flag Football Camp begins today and will take place every Saturday through April 13 at Charlotte Amalie High School.
Children ages 6-13 are invited and registration is $125. The action takes place between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
"We do a lot of activities with the kids to try and keep them motivated, to keep them involved and to try to get them to understand life is more than just sports," said co-founder Dwayne "Juice" Maduro in a press release. "It's about teamwork, camaraderie and building them up as good young men and as productive members of society."

31st annual Women's Jogger Jam
ST. THOMAS - The 31st annual Women's Jogger Jam will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The 2-mile course will start and finish at The Fruit Bowl in Wheatley Center.
Girls and women of all ages are invited to walk, jog or run to benefit the Family Resource Center, Inc. There is a team challenge trophy to be presented to the organization or school with the most participants. Awards will also be presented to place-winners in nine age categories. T-shirts will be presented to the first 275 registered finishers.
Early registration, which ends today, is $3 for joggers 18 years and younger and $6 for adults. STAR members can register for $5. Day-of registration is $10. The Fruit Bowl will donate $5 to the Family Resource Center, Inc., for every registered finisher. Register during business hours at The Fruit Bowl, The Caribbean Surf Co. in Havensight, Royal Dane Mall or Red Hook Shopping Center.
8Tuff Miles Tune-up
ST. JOHN - The second Geiger Tuff Tune-up will take place at 7:30 a.m. today at the George Simmons Terrace Apartments in Cuz Bay. The Tune-ups are for the 17th annual St. John 8Tuff Miles Road Race, which is scheduled for 7:15 a.m. on Feb. 23.
There will be two water stations along this 2½-mile section of the 8 Tuff Miles course, and there will be Gatorade and cold water at the finish area, which is on Bordeaux Mountain Road. This section is very hilly both upward and downward, and most of this run is in the V.I. National Park.
There will be a police escort and a SAG wagon to carry anyone back pack if they wish to bring one alone.

Scholastic Chess Tournament
ST. THOMAS - The Second Chess Tournament for the 2012-2013 School Year, sponsored by The Virgin Islands Institute For Teaching And Learning, will takes place today at Joseph Lockhart Elementary School. Registration starts at 7:45 a.m. and the first game begins at 8 a.m.
This is a four-round tournament. Each round is expected to last for no more than 1 hour at 30 minutes per player per game. Players will be categorized in either Individual, ages 9 years and under, ages 12 years and under and ages 13 years and above. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners in each category. Entry is free and lunch will be on sale.

Cruise-To-Run 5K Prediction Race
ST. CROIX - The Cruise-To-Run 5K Prediction Race will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in Frederiksted. Local runners are invited to join a group of 200 runners who will make St. Croix the first Caribbean stop on their Cruise-To-Run schedule.
The event benefits the Women's Coalition of St. Croix, is sponsored by the V.I. Tourism Department and is organized by the V.I. Pace Runners. Local participants and volunteers can register online.

Rugrats T-ball League
ST. THOMAS - The Sports, Parks and Recreation Department is announcing the start of the 2013 Rugrats T-ball League. Registration forms are available at the Joseph Aubain Ballpark or the main office in Sub Base. Clinics will start Monday at Joseph Aubain Ballpark on Mondays and Wednesdays for boys and girls ages 3-5. The clinics will be followed by the opening of the league. ST. THOMAS - Beginning this week, Mahogany Run Golf Course will offer junior golf lessons Wednesday through Sunday. ST. THOMAS - The USVI Rugby Football Union practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week from 6 to 8 p.m. at Charlotte Amalie High School. Veterans, novices and first-time players are all welcome to participate.

The USVI Soccer Association is conducting free soccer clinics on St. Croix and St. Thomas that are open to boys and girls ages 5-13. The clinics take place from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday at Good Hope School and Educational Complex on St. Croix and at the University of the Virgin Islands soccer field on St. Thomas.
