Matthew’s slam leads Vibes past

ST. THOMAS — Weston Matthew blasted a grand slam in the second inning, which proved to be enough for the Vibes in a 16-14 victory over the Dominicanos in a Donald O. Senthill Coed Modified-pitch Softball League game Tuesday.
Kenneth Vanterpool, Orville Hyndman, Glen Francis and Cyril Andrews each went 2-for-3 from the plate for the Vibes while Dexter Freeman was the winning pitcher.
Claudio Martinez had four hits in four plate appearances for the Dominicanos and E. Mato clubbed a three-run home run in the sixth.
Rookies 16, Coasters 4
Jakoi Recival hit a pair of two-run home runs to spark the Rookies to their win over the Coasters on Tuesday.
Percival finished the day batting 4-for-4 with six RBIs. Dwayne Scott and Alfred Maduro combined for four hits while Deshawn Brooks added two more hits for the Rookies.
Aron Smith had three hits in three plate appearances for the Coasters and Ed Worner was inside the circle.
