ST. THOMAS - Phillip Shannon and his crew aboard the IC-24 Magic Bus were the pride of the St. Thomas Yacht Club on Saturday as they held off St. John sailor Mike Feierabend, aboard the IC-24 MT, to win the Around St. Thomas Race.
The rivalry between St. Thomas and St. John can be traced back 40 years, when the yacht clubs on each side of Pillsbury Sound set up races around their respective islands, and competed annually to have one of their own claim the regatta cups.
