Peter Stanton took first overall last weekend in the Bill Chandler Sunfish Memorial Regatta in Teague Bay.
The St. Croix Yacht Club event was held in memory of Chandler, who died last year.
Winds between 18 and 22 knots challenged the field of 23 sailors on Saturday, but winds eased on Sunday. Scott Stanton was second overall, and Chris Schreiber took third.
Chandler's favorite boat was the Sunfish, according to an SCYC press release.
"Everyone can sail that boat from the young sailors to the old ones, Bill would say," according to the press release.
Six of the 23 sailors competed in the Grand Masters' Class for those age 60 years and older.
Lake Sanford and Ethan Hanley took the top junior sailor honors and Sarah Hardee and Lindsey Wessel took the top female sailor honors. Schreiber was the top finisher in the Master Class (age 40-59) and Tully Keith was the top Grand Master sailor.
The SCYC is holding their Around the Island regatta this weekend. For details, visit stcroixyc.com.
