ST. THOMAS - Saturday's home matchups against the University of Puerto Rico-Bayamón ended in disappointing losses for the University of the Virgin Islands men's and women's basketball teams.
The Lady Buccaneers came up short, 65-34, in a blowout. Scoring just six points in the first quarter, UVI (0-3 in Liga Atlética Interuniversitaria play) was never quite able to find a groove, managing 10, 4, and 14 points in the remaining quarters. Turnovers and poor free-throw shooting once again doomed the Lady Bucs.
